Columbine Flower in Colored Pencils

Colored pencils! I think color pencils made a comeback with the coloring book craze but don't know how many people really use it? I feel no art medium should be left behind LOL

So I have done a flower tutorial with colored pencils. My first one. So sharpen those pencils and lets get busy. I approach most art pieces by starting of light and then build layers and colors. A red will look different on a pink as a base color. So try it out.

The two main things I can warn you about it pressing too hard if you transfer your drawing an pressing too hard when you start coloring.

Pencils are sensitive so be careful not to indent your paper.

Soft coloring and over and over to build on colors to make it darker. Light to dark is always better and color paper definitely gives a different feel. I love natural so its always my to go to.

This was the one I used:

I show the original inspiration and the watercolor version I used as inspo.

Have so much fun exploring colored pencils and remember to share with me so I can see!
